Withdrawing Competitive Artistic Athletes
Clubs have the ability to withdraw competitive artistic athletes in order to modify an athlete's competitive category or level. If you have an athlete that has withdrawn from your club's competitive program, you may withdraw them from their registered competitive category or level; however, if you choose to do so, you must re-register them in a suitable non-competitive category (such as recreational annual artistic), even if they are no longer participating in any of your club's programs.
When a club withdraws a competitive athlete in Uplifter without re-registering them in a different membership, it creates the misconception that the athlete was never a GymBC member for that year, which is inaccurate. Therefore, if a competitive athlete withdraws from your club's competitive program, they still need to remain as a registered member with GymBC.
Scenario 1: If an athlete has competed during the membership year, you should not withdraw them as a GymBC competitive athlete, even if they have left your club and are not attending another GymBC member club. Simply maintain their registration in whatever competitive category or level they were previously assigned.
Scenario 2: If an athlete has not competed during the membership year, you may withdraw them from the GymBC competitive category or level; however, you must then re-register them as a recreational annual artistic participant to ensure they remain a registered GymBC member for the year.
