Gymnastics BC is pleased to announce that Valerie (Val) Johnson of Shasta Trampoline Club has been inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame class of 2020!

During her over 50 years of involvement in trampoline gymnastics, Val has become an invaluable member of the BC gymnastics community.

Early in her gymnastics career, Val was a fierce competitor who earned national championship titles from 1971-1973. She competed on behalf of Canada at the 1972 World Championships in Germany, at the 1974 World Championships in South Africa.

Val proudly founded Shasta Trampoline club in 1975, and the club has seen huge success; Shasta continues to produce athletes competing on national and international levels, including Samantha Smith–an Olympic hopeful.

Gymnastics BC would like to extend congratulations to Val, as well as her family and friends on this tremendous achievement.
