JULY 28, 2020
Attention member club representatives:
Your Board of Directors met last week and spent a significant amount of time discussing the various attributes, pros, cons, benefits, and risks surrounding the insurance policy options that were available.
Because of the changing insurance environment and the impact of COVID-19, insurance companies were late to provide quotes to many Provincial Sport Organizations this summer, including Gymnastics BC. As a result, GBC secured a renewed insurance policy with Markel a few days ago.
Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)
On August 7, 2020, GBC secured a renewed insurance policy for the 2020-21 season. Along with the new policy, Gymnastics BC has seen an increase in its insurance premium from the insurance provider.
As a result, an EGM will be held to vote on an insurance levy adjustment in addition to the membership fees approved at the 2018 AGM.
Date and Time
The 2020 EGM will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT.
The EGM will be conducted via online video conference (Zoom) and will require voting delegates to take part in an electronic vote (details TBA). Details including how to attend the EGM and more can be found in the EGM Package.
Ordinary Resolution
The following resolution will be proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the members of the Society:
- Be it resolved that the insurance levy collected in addition to the membership fees approved at the 2018 AGM will be adjusted to our insurance fees.
