Gymnastics BC Is Seeking Four Directors At Large For Fall 2023

Gymnastics BC’s board of Directors is made up of ten (10) volunteers directors: four (4) of whom are elected by the member clubs; four (4) are appointed by the various standing technical committees; and two (2) are appointed by the board as subject matter specialist, including the Director of Finance. Each year at the AGM, GymBC member clubs meet to elect new directors as members of the board.

Maybe this is a great role for you or someone you know?As a member of the Gymnastics BC Board of Directors, you will contribute to the work of committees that support the operations of the Association, and help establish policies that guide the safe and effective delivery of gymnastics programs in BC.
As per Gymnastics BC’s bylaws, Director(s)-at-Large terms are divided into two categories:
- Elected – Two (2) Director(s)-at-Large positions are elected by the members each year at the GymBC AGM, based on qualified nominations, submitted by member clubs and received by the nominating committee prior to the published deadline. - Appointed – Two (2) Director(s)-at-Large are appointed by the board each year and confirmed at the GymBC AGM, based on qualified applications received by the nominating committee prior to the published deadline. One (1) of these appointed Director(s)-at-Large is the Director(s)-at-Large , Finance otherwise referred to as Director of Finance. Appointed Director(s)-at-Large serve for 1-year terms.

Director at Large – If you are passionate about amateur sport and have a strong background in governance, strategic planning, legal, HR, or other matters relating to not for profits, we invite you to apply to this exciting position.
Director of Finance – If you are passionate about amateur sport and have a strong background in financial matters relating to not for profits, we invite you to apply to this exciting position. A professional accounting designation, such as CPA or similar, would be a preferred qualification.
