Gymnastics BC is pleased to welcome Nigel Loring as our CEO. With over 25 years of experience in sport management and leadership, Nigel will be a strong addition to the team, allowing the organization to continue providing excellent programming and member services to the GBC community.   

Nigel possesses extensive experience in leadership positions within the sport sector; most recently, he worked as an independent sport consultant, and was previously the President & CEO of Alberta Alpine Ski Association.  

With a love of sport since childhood, he has progressed from athlete to coach to leadership roles within not-for-profit sport organizations. He has contributed in full-time executive and program director capacities, as well as in volunteer roles such as board membership and event management. 

With strengths in strategic planning, business administration, risk assessment, and community engagement, Nigel’s career has spanned across BC, as well as in Alberta, the US, Switzerland and New Zealand. 

Originally from Nova Scotia, Nigel obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, majoring in Sport Administration and Event Planning. 

Nigel is excited to serve as CEO for Gymnastics BC, beginning on Monday, February 1, 2021.
