Vancouver, BC (January 25, 2024) — Gymnastics BC (GymBC) is excited to announce the roster of athletes, coaches, and team members for the upcoming 2024 BC Winter Games. After months of selection camps, tryouts, and hard work, GymBC’s top provincial junior aged athletes have been named for the upcoming 2024 BC Winter Games.

Since the 2023 BC Winter Games in Vernon, the athletes and coaches have been participating in a variety of meets and training camps within their regions and across the province to prepare for this winters’ 2024 BC Games. The short timeline between BC Winter games is due to the re-scheduling of the 2022 planned games into 2023. Historically the BC Winter Games are held every two (2) years. The BC Winter Games are BC’s premier multi-sport event for young athletes, coaches, and officials.

 “The BC Games stand as a pivotal platform, offering our artistic gymnastics athletes and coaches a profound development opportunity. It serves as a transformative journey, shaping not only skilled gymnasts but instilling in them the values of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance, laying the foundation for a future generation of champions both in the gym and in life,” states GymBC MAG Program Coordinator and BC Games Provincial Advisor, Thorstein Fischer.

Over 130, athletes, coaches, assistant coaches, zone representatives and adult supervisors have been selected to represent the sport of Gymnastics in the 8 zones from across the province. Our sport is part of the bi-annual historic event which gives our athletes a unique opportunity to compete in such a top-level multi-sport event.

The BC Winter and BC Summer Games are British Columbia’s biennial celebration of sport and community, bringing together British Columbia’s best emerging high-performance athletes, trained coaches, and certified officials for four days of competition.

The event provides an opportunity for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition, and the multi-sport environment helps promote interest and participation in sport and activity, individual achievement, and community development.  Athletes and coaches will represent one of the 8 zones that make up the BC Winter Games.

The BC Winter Games will be headed to the Cariboo Regional District of B.C. from February 22 – 25, 2024 as the Lhtako Dene Nation and the City of Quesnel come together to host the province's top young athletes.
