2023 Canada Winter Games Results
The 2023 Canada Winter Games united 3,600 athletes, managers and coaches, across 20 different sports, for the largest multi-sport event in Canada. Team BC kicked off the Games, dominating the Medal standings in the early stages across various sports.
On Gymnastics competition Day 1, February 20, 2023, for Artistic & Trampoline (TG) Gymnastics, Team BC member Samson Boldizar sustained a serious injury to both knees during the TG Synchro event which ruled him out for the remainder of the competition.

Day 3 -February 22, 2023
It was a special day for Trampoline Gymnastics athlete Brooklyn Lee McMeeken, who attended her first Canada Winter Games and earned a gold medal. “I am extremely happy to win such a tough competition with such a talented group of girls. All my hard work is paying off with this gold medal. I would like to thank my parents for always being there for me and my dad for driving me to training everyday. I‘d also like to thank my coaches for helping me get to where I am today and always supporting me”, commented Brooklyn.

Day 4 -February 23, 2023
– 4th Place – Sophie Patterson – Women’s Artistic All – Around
On day 4 of the competition, The Women’s Artistic All round event saw Sophie Patterson narrowly miss out on a Medal, meanwhile Jordanna Phillis finished in nineth and Beth Noble in 13th. On top of their stellar performances under challenging conditions, BC WAG received the following comments from another province:
Congratulations to the Women’s Artistic Team on their superb efforts in the Apparatus finals. On day 5 of the gymnastics competition, a phenomenal effort in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics saw Team BC dominate in the respective categories, winning a total of 6 medals including three gold, one silver and two bronze. “Going into this competition, I knew there were a lot of improvements I needed to make. I was just focusing on floor – my biggest event. I am happy I was able to deliver. I am just really happy with what I’ve done,” commented Kai Iwaasa, Richmond, on his performance.
Iwaasa earned two gold medals in Artistic Floor and in Artistic Rings, Ethan Ikeda won bronze on Artistic Pommel Horse, Jackson Martin took home Silver in Artistic Vault and Blake Morfitt added another Gold medal to the tally. “It was pretty amazing. I was the only one doing a lower-value skill and I ended up sticking it and it ended me up in silver,” states Jackson Martin, Campbell River. “It’s such an amazing feeling with all the hype with the team. I was just coming here to do my best and have fun and I ended up having such a great day and I got myself a silver medal. Team BC is such a strong team. I love the energy they provide. I’m so proud to be a part of it.”

-Gold Medal – Blake Morfitt –Horizontal Bar – Men’s Artistic
-Gold Medal – Ethan Ikeda – Parallel Bars – Men’s Artistic
-Silver Medal – Jackson Martin – Vault – Men’s Artistic
-Bronze Medal – Ethan Ikeda – Pommel Horse – Men’s Artistic
The gymnastic events concluded at the end of Week 1 at the Canada Winter Games, with Team BC winning nine medals in total across the trampoline and artistic competition.
