TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (FULL TIME) GYMNASTICS NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador (NL), Gymnastics Newfoundland & Labrador (GNL) is a not-for-profit provincial sport organization responsible for the overall governance, development and promotion of gymnastics in NL. Our dynamic team serves 11-member clubs representing almost 5,000 participants province wide. As a member-based organization, we strive to deliver excellent member and customer service experiences in all of our interactions.
GNL is seeking a dynamic, responsible and innovative individual for the role of Technical Director.
Reporting to the Executive Director of GNL, the Technical Director is responsible for overall technical operations and is a key member of the leadership team working with the Executive Director to oversee the programs of each gymnastic discipline.
Responsibilities of the Technical Director, include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage the long-term grassroots and technical planning for gymnastics in NL
- Facilitate collaboration between and among GNL and the member clubs
- Lead and oversee the implementation of the gymnastics Long-Term Athlete Development Model
- Lead and oversee the development of each gymnastics discipline (MAG, WAG, TG) in the province
- Lead and oversee the development of judging officials in the province
- Manage the logistics and/or planning associated with GNL provincial and Team Newfoundland attended competitions (Atlantics, Easterns, Nationals)
- Manage the implementation of technical rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Communicate and consult with the Newfoundland & Labrador and Canadian gymnastics community
Qualifications
- University degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current experience and expertise in at least one major gymnastics discipline
- Experience in change management or transformational leadership roles
- Skilled in program design implementation and management

- Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently
- Proven excellence in leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, and strong oral, and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated, innovative thinker with the ability to take direction, work as part of a team and make independent decisions as required
- Superior motivational, problem-solving and collaborative skills
- Able to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Superior attention to detail while balancing execution of strategic priorities
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for member club diversity

It is preferred that the successful candidate be willing to relocate to Newfoundland; however, a remote working arrangement may be considered. Travel will be required in this position.
