Artistic Gymnastics Coach/Summer Camp Leader-Canada Summer Jobs
Position Title: Gymnastics Coach-Summer Camp Leader (Recreational & Xcel)
Start date: End of June 2021
Terms of Employment: This is a Canada Summer Jobs position for a young adult between the ages of 15 and 30 yrs old. This position is a term position for 6 weeks with the potential for the right candidate to be hired on for Part Time or Full Time employment when the term is completed.
July and August-Part-time, 12 hours per week, with potential to increase hours depending on certification for 6 weeks.
Time of work: between 8:15-3:30 Monday to Thursday with the potential of later shifts if assisting with Team etc.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and certifications, Minimum $17.50/hrs
Housing: Room and Board options may be available for the 6 week term at a negotiated rate
National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) Foundations Trained or Certified
NCCP Comp 1 certified or trained (considered an asset)
Previous experience within the sport of gymnastics
Some experience competing in or coaching gymnastics considered an asset
Knowledge of use of equipment and different learning styles of participants
Demonstrates an enthusiastic attitude and positive demeanor
Valid First Aid certification or willing to take the certification
Making Ethical Decisions certificate
Respect in Sport certificate
Criminal Record Check (for over 18 years of age)
Driven to impart the knowledge of physical literacy in children
Have a good understanding of class and behavior management
Passionate about the sport of gymnastics and willing to constantly educate yourself on aspects of athlete development
Team player, creative, and also have the ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Dependable. Committed and professional attitude towards coaching profession
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow the Gymnastics BC guidelines for coaching.
- Prepare and review lesson plans in conjunction with the Head Coach.
- Assist as is deemed necessary in daily operations.
- Arrive for work as scheduled or provide an appropriate replacement.
- Enforce club rules and policies.
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Ensure that all accident reports are filled out and provided to the Head Coach within 24 hours of occurrence.
- Perform regular safety checks on all equipment and play areas.
- Activates emergency procedures as required
