The Glacier Gymnastics Club is looking for an enthusiastic person to accommodate for the club’s increasing membership in its competitive program. This position will require the ability to coach a variety of WAG programs, developmental, Xcel and CCP level 6-8. Glacier Gymnastics has a strong, supportive coaching team, qualified and willing to mentor coaches with limited experience, if needed.
The Glacier Gymnastics Club is located in beautiful Nelson, BC. The club is a well-organized not-for-profit organization with a membership of 600 and growing. We offer programs ranging from parent/tot, preschool, boys and girls recreational, women’s artistic developmental & competitive. Glacier Gymnastics produces well-rounded gymnasts that have seen a lot of competitive success. At the 2022 BC Championships, Glacier was the first place Level 7 team and the second place Level 6 team. The club has had many gymnasts win medals at BC Championships, BC Winter Games and Western Canadians.
The City of Nelson offers a unique lifestyle. Nestled in the heart of the Kootenays, skiing is just 20 minutes from the city. In the summer there are numerous un-crowded public beaches, one just steps away from the gym. Live music, festivals and theatre performances roll through town all year long and there is an abundance of artisans in the area, which makes living in Nelson a true cultural experience.
Qualifications
Duties would include:
Salary based on qualifications and experience. Benefit package and coach development funding available with the right qualifications and commitment. Future advancement a definite possibility. Mentoring into the Head Coach position will be available for a suitable candidate.
Start date: August 29, 2022 or earlier.
