Position Title: Competitive Women’s Gymnastics Coach, Compulsory/ Excel

Anticipated start date:  June 15th 2021 (can be negotiated)

Terms of Employment:  Part-time, full-time position, weekend, day, evening (20-35 hours a week)

Job Overview 

  • Focus on developmental program and JO level athletes. You will be part of the coaching team that works with athletes who wish to achieve higher levels in the artistic gymnastics. You will ensure that all opportunities are provided to achieve individual and team goals
  • Plan, develop and coordinate competition schedules and programs
  • Evaluate existing and prospective athletes’ level of skills and performance
  • Motivate and prepare athletes and team for competitions- local, provincial, national and international
  • Communicate with lead coaches and parents on athlete progress
  • Perform other duties related to coaching

What you provide 

  • Comp 1 or 2 NCCP Artistic Gymnastics certified or higher
  • Extensive knowledge of the Junior Olympic Program JO 1-5
  • Strong technical knowledge of artistic gymnastics
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within women’s competitive gymnastics programs
  • Level 1 NCCP Trampoline Gymnastics trained/certified
  • Respect in Sport; making ethical decisions certification
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector
  • 2 – 3 years experience in coaching a competitive level artistic gymnastics program
  • Experience in class planning, organizing, coaching, and working with peers on the floor
