Gymnastics should be fun and for everyone – just ask Keara Urquhart, the positive energy behind GBC’s Gymnastics For All Program, which is dedicated to the management and promotion of recreational gymnastics in BC. Keara is no stranger to the world of gymnastics, with an incredible breadth of experience as a former competitive gymnast, coach, and program director for a number of cheer and gymnastics programs in BC. Prior to joining GBC in 2015, Keara spent the past decade working at the Surrey Gymnastic Society, Cartwheels Gymnastics, Balance Gymnastics, and Wayland Sports Ltd. – where she served as a coach and program director for the All Star Cheerleading Program. Keara also spent two years coaching the UBC Cheerleading Program and served as the athletic trainer for the Ladner Pioneers Lacrosse Team in 2014.
A Singapore Native with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from UBC, Keara also holds her NCCP Level 2 Gymnastics, NCCP Level 2 Trampoline, and Sport Med BC certifications. She is a current member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists and sat on the BC Cheerleading Association board as secretary from 2013-2014. Keara also has a diploma in Tourism Management, which serves her well in coordinating Gymnastics For All events. When she’s not working hard to elevate the quality of recreational gymnastics programs in BC, Keara enjoys the finer things in life: travel, food, wine, and exploring the great outdoors with her dogs.
