Debbie brings 24 years of experience to her role as Trampoline Gymnastics (TG) Coordinator at Gymnastics BC. Her trailblazing career in provincial trampoline began by chance, when she enrolled her daughter at Shasta Trampoline Club in 1990. At Shasta, Debbie started out as a parent volunteer, where her passion and commitment to advancing trampoline sports earned her a seat as Club President for many years. She joined Gymnastics BC as a volunteer in 1992, where she served on the TG board as Registrar, and later became Board Chair. In 2007, Debbie advanced to her current position as TG Coordinator, where she manages competitive trampoline programming in BC. She is also a NCCP Level 1 certified coach. This Vancouver native has an unwavering dedication to her sport; she’s always focused on what is best for the athletes.
Debbie credits much of her success to the incredible mentors she’s had throughout her career–many of whom are pioneers in the development of trampoline sports in BC. She played an active role in bringing the World Trampoline Championships to Vancouver in 1996, and was a key member of the organizing committee that brought the Indo Pacific Championships to Canada for the first and only time in 2004. One of Debbie’s proudest moments is very personal: her daughter has won 3 National titles in trampoline. Outside of work, Debbie puts family first: she enjoys spending time with her 4 grandchildren, one of whom is a budding gymnast.
